How We Feel About Open Adoption

We love Birthparents!  Adoption will be talked about with pride and joy!  We will tell our children how they came to be a part of our family.  We will share as little or as much information as you would like.  We would love to share with you letters, emails, texts, and in person visits.  We want you to know how we are doing.  And we want to know how you are doing too.

We have an open adoption with Amelia's birthmom.

We love the relationship that we have developed with our birthmom and love having her in our home.  We especially love that Breanna's family has accepted us into their family, we love to visit with them.  We spent this past summer teaching Breanna how to waterski at the lake.  We text, call, and send packages so that they know what is going on in Amelia's life, and love to get together with them as often as we can.

"I think open adoption is special because it really is about the combined love of everyone involved coming together for one child. You have different people, coming together who often are different ages, maybe from different areas, and different walks of life, who try to put those thoughts aside and focus on what has brought them together; the shared love of one child."

We also write and send packages to Amelias birth father, we are Facebook friends, but have not met in person.  We are excited about the possibility to build a closer relationship with him.
